14th Annual Mutt Strutt Dog Walk-a-thon
For all our dog loving friends in California have we got the event for you!! I came across an ad for the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA 14th Annual Mutt Strutt Dog Walk-a-thon today in my latest issue of Fido Friendly. The event is being held on Saturday August 16th from 9A – 1P at Coyote Point Park in San Mateo. It sounds like aside from the fabulous walk pets will enjoy vendors, prizes, and several contests like “Most Talented” or my favorite “Best Kisser”. Life’s a Beach
I love this time of year. The days are getting a bit longer and spring
fashion is in full bloom which means warm weather is just around the corner.
The bright colors and whimsical patterns just scream here comes the sun!! A
perennial spring/summer favorite is terry cloth and this year is no
exception. Its making its mark in both tanks and hoodies and in true summer

Barkin’ Politics
In Election 2008 every vote counts!! We love the idea of dressing your pup in their political colors…Democrat Donkey’s or Republican Elephants!! After all what better way to spread your political message and get people talking about the election!! Or perhaps you’d just like to get the word out that it’s important to take the time to vote but you don’t want to hold fast to any particular party…Go with a simple Pink or Blue Vote tee. It gets the message out there without starting a huge political debate!! Chloe and I are simply using a pink (our signature color, of course) Vote Tee to cheerfully remind folks to get out there and vote. We don’t care whether you’re a Donkey or Elephant…Just get out there and bark the vote this year!!
Winter Storm Gear
Here in NY we are currently having the largest snow storm of the season. When Chloe and I ventured out into the elements this morning she bundled up tighter than a Kindergartner to ensure she stayed warm and safe while we enjoyed the fresh powder. Keep your pooch toasty warm and protected during in-climate weather with a few of our winter essentials. First outerwear is essential!! We love the Sport Vest it’s a lined vest and the benefit of a vest is that it allows your pup’s legs to have maximum flexibility. Another fab jacket is the Toggle Parka (this is the one Chloe has). We adore this parka it has removable sleeves and a detachable hood!! If you plan to romp in areas that have been salted boots are a must-have!! While we have both functional and designer shoes we suggest selecting the functional design with ribbed bottom for extra traction and protection. For paws that are dry and cracked from extreme weather the BowWow Butter Balm or Mango PawPaya paw balms work wonders to restore moisture back into the paws. Another fantastic body product duo for winter is the FurButter and Comfy Dog Shampoo. Both products are great for dry chapped skin and restore luster and shine back into your pup’s coat. Tag Your It
I can’t stress the importance of properly tagging your dog enough!! Yesterday, as I left my home and began traveling to work I noticed a Yorkie walking in the road. My first thought was “holy smokes” then I collected myself. I pulled the car over as I was worried the dog would be hit by a car and called him. He quickly scampered over and thank goodness he had a tag that clearly stated his name – address and phone number. He actually traveled close to 4 miles away from his home over a little more than 12 hours and his parents were worried to death over him (naturally, wouldn’t we all). In the past we have not carried charms that accept engraving or that can be easily marked with your dog’s information. After this experience we will concentrate our immediate efforts on finding unusual, trendy and fun ID tags that you and your pooch will adore and be eager to use but they will also serve as a a functional resource if your pooch ever finds himself/herself a stray from home!!
