Summer creates the perfect backdrop for plenty of concerts and musical festivals throughout the country.  If your pampered pooch is anything like Chloe they are ready “rock out” just at the very sight of a guitar.  We all know every rock ‘n roll hound needs the right wardrobe.  After all you can’t be too flashy or you’ll be dubbed a pop star and you can’t be too grunge or you’ll be pigeon-holed into the alternative genre. National Dog Day is recognized nationally on August 26th each year.  The event was the brainchild of Colleen Page the founder of Animal Miracle Foundation whose goal is to raise awareness of the plight homeless and abused animals face.  Each year the day is celebrated with many events nationwide however, there is always one main flagship event often held during the following weekend .  For 2008 that event will be held on Solomons Island Maryland at the Calvert Marine Museum on Saturday - August 23rd from 10A - 5P. The event is FREE and chock full of fun concerts, vendors, and contests!!  For more information regarding the event please visit the National Dog Day website.

For all our dog loving friends in California have we got the event for you!!  I came across an ad for the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA 14th Annual Mutt Strutt Dog Walk-a-thon today in my latest issue of Fido Friendly.  The event is being held on Saturday August 16th from 9A - 1P at Coyote Point Park in San Mateo.  It sounds like aside from the fabulous walk pets will enjoy vendors, prizes, and several contests like “Most Talented” or my favorite “Best Kisser”.  If you’re nearby be sure to check it out and please give us feedback on the event!!  For more details regarding the event simply visit www.phs-spca.org

Every pup enjoys a little “me” time and the Cabana Tents are just the answer.  The tents are available in three great colors Candy Stripe Pink, Poolside Blue, or Wilderness Brown to suit every pup’s personality and your decor.  We love how easy they are to set up just 2 zippers and a few one touch closures and your up and running.  Breaking the tent down is a snap as well and it stores flat a huge space saving plus which also makes them great for travel as well.

Here in NY it seems that the whole city is buzzing about the new Sex in the City movie.  After all most of us spent days locked up in our bedrooms with bon-bons and a box of tissues sobbing after hearing the news the show was in its final season.  It seems that everyone I know had a ritual for watching the show whether it be alone - with friends or even out at a hot spot.  For me, each week Chloe and I snuggled up on the couch with a freshly poured Cosmo (hers was virgin of course!) and enjoyed the episode.
